Sherborne School music centre, Dorset and the new Garsington Opera Pavilion at Wormsley have both been shortlisted for 2012 RIBA awards. This year’s awards ceremonies will be taking place on 20th June in Leeds, Swindon, Bury St Edmunds, Leicester and London. We will be at the Swindon awards ceremony to learn whether either of these projects will win a prestigious RIBA award. The Ruddock Performing Arts Centre opens April 2012 - 23 May 2012More
The Ruddock Performing Arts Centre opened on Friday 27th April 2012 with a stunning performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and Rimsky Korsakov’s Sheherezade.
Based on a design concept by Haworth Tompkins and team, the design development and completion was undertaken by the Sound Space Design and Anne Minors Performance Consultants and architect ADP under a D&B contract with Shaylor Construction. Shaylor and the consultant team were charged with, and were successful in saving £1M from the original tender price of the building.
