Blue Boar Quadrangle is a Grade II* seminal Modernist building designed by Powell & Moya at the University of Oxford’s Christ Church.
Sound Space Design worked in close collaboration with Purcell Miller Tritton Architects (now Purcell) to sensitively alter the existing fabric to incorporate a lecture theatre within a large storage room. This brand new venue now boasts a view to the beautiful quad outside.
SSD achieved a balance between regular lecture use with occasional music performance through sound isolating and diffusing elements integrated into timber shuttering, and advised on room acoustics, services noise control and sound isolation.
Opened in 2009.
