Fairfield Halls, South London’s largest Arts Centre, is going through a multi-million-pound redevelopment to transform it to a state-of-the-art venue in the heart of the Croydon community. Fairfield Halls opens in September, 2019.

The redeveloped venue will include the world class Phoenix Concert Hall, Ashcroft Playhouse, and new spaces including The Recreational, and the Talawa studios.

Originally opened in 1962, Fairfield Halls contains three main performance spaces including: the 1800-seat Concert Hall; 750-seat Ashcroft Theatre; and, the Arnhem Gallery, a multi-functional space for up to 450 people. This refurbishment project includes an additional multi-function space above the Arnhem to accommodate a range of activities, with an emphasis on dance. The venue also houses a number of meeting rooms and spacious foyers. The refurbishment will build upon the strong cultural heritage of the building restoring and improving the spaces in sympathy with its original appearance.
